My favorite trail to go walking

I have been trying to do more walking lately. So, I went to Weldon Springs State Park parked close to this picnic ground.

I see this sign so decide to check it out.

2.4 miles. I think I can, I think I can, so off I go.

The trail is mowed nicely, don't think I shall get lost like I almost did a couple of days ago. I had decided that I would always go to the right if the trail forked.

My first area was this one.....

I didn't know they had a cemetery here in the park.

About 24 graves, very old.

The perfect tree for a swing.

Scenes along the trail.

It was fun trying to figure out what all the old buildings were.

Wait a minute, I either have to walk thru the water, or use the concrete bridge like walks. The first time I went across a frog jumped and scared me for a second.

Some of the buildings are in bad shape.

But can see thru the openings where they used to feed the animals.

Wait, there is still hay or straw in the hay loft. I can see it
Thru the crack.

Up rooted trees. Wonder how old they are.

The field where we normally go looking for deer from the other road.

A volcher flying up high. Actually I saw three there. But I had not seen anything dead. So don't know what they were circling.

Wait.....this must not be park property on the other side of the fence. That's a ladder going to a deer stand on the left side of that tree. Doesn't seem fair they are protected as long as they stay on this side, but let them cross over that fence and he can kill them.

Wonder how old this tree is.

Their small house. Wonder if it was theirs or t
He hired hands? Didn't see any other house on the property. But, did see two big barns and a smaller barn.

The barn door which reminds me of our barn when I was young,

The old corn crib, half of it is gone.

The property next door. Would love to set my trailor there.

As I rounded the corner I could see the road and field we normally see deer at when we go to Clinton in early morning or late evening.

I love this place to walk . 2.4 miles and it only took me a little over an hour and I was stopping to take photos too.
So peaceful! I did hear all kinds of birds, and pheasants making noise. I believe early morning or late evening, there would also be deer out here grazing.
Even just going as far as the cemetery and sitting on the bench to read would be ideal. Only once did I see anyone else on the trail. He was walking the other way and carrying his shirt to get some sun.
