Tis the Season

Thanksgiving is over, and Christmas will be here before we know it.

Yet yesterday afternoon, I do declare I saw Santa Claus.
He must have had a special errand to do and deliver a few gifts early.

Not the only people who went out to eat.

We were not the only people who chose not to cook and went out for Thanksgiving Dinner.
This is what it looked like in front of the Golden Corral in Springfield when we left. Am glad we decided to go early.

Yummy food and no mess to clean up. :)

Mom's sock-Amish Dolls

In trying out my new camera the other night I took some photos.
Sitting on my recliner I snapped this photo of the Amish Dolls my mother used to make out of socks.

Next to it is the bunny rabbit that I made out of a old quilt. I made three things, a bunny, a teddy bear and a heart out of that old quilt. It was a quilt that was on Bud's side of the family and his sister Judy wanted a remembrance of the lady who's quilt it was. Therefore, I worked around the holes and made the animals.

In seeing the dolls that my mother had made it reminded me of one of her last Thanksgivings here on earth with us.
I lived 40 miles away, Mom was cooking dinner. When I woke up Thanksgiving morning there was way too much snow on the ground for me to drive my small car the 40 miles.
So, my older brother came 30- miles from Findlay to Decatur and picked me up and we headed out the other 40 miles to go to Mom's for dinner.

Upon arriving---Mom told me she was surprised to see us the way the weather was.
My reply, we are here to eat and run, He has chains on his car so he will get me back to Decatur and get back home himself.
I don't think I even helped wash dishes that day. But was able to enjoy a home cooked meal.

We have not had any snow this fall yet, I sure am hoping history doesn't repeat itself and I wake up to 11" of snow like I did that morning.

The smallest payroll check ever.

Friday when doing payroll, I was zipping right through it, then stopped dead still.

Wait.....this guy only worked 8 hours, and he went hunting. Yet he has both health insurance and child support to pay for the week.

WHATTTTT? You gotta be kidding me....It comes out to $ .12 clear......Now what am I to do?

Since he is sitting in a deer stand miles and miles away, OF COURSE he will not answer my phone call, SO I must make a decision.....Does he only get his 12 cents for the day, or can the child support be adjusted since he only worked 8 hours?

After two phone calls and a on line form that does the calculation we got it that he got $ 23.42 more according to the on line calculation. If the employee does not work a full week it can be calculated what to pay for the child support.

WHOOPIE DOOOO...... So now his check is $ 23.54 for a day's pay and they will probably send us a updated child support withholding sheet that shows that he is $23.42 behind in his child support.

Today When he was in here at lunch we were both laughing about it. That isn't even grocery money. But now he knows he must work one full day to cover his health insurance, child support and 401K payment. So now tomorrow he can start making money for next week's check.

HOPE HE HAD A BIT OF MONEY SAVED SO HE HAD FOOD IN THE HOUSE WHEN HE WENT HUNTING.

Caught in the Act.

When things get a bit nutty at the office Julie and I will sometimes just take a few moments and do something totally different just to relax and regroup.
Yesterday she was caught in the act.

I heard her at her desk showing a couple of the service guys the toy that she has bought for her son for Christmas.
Yep, playing with it.

What will she have to play with after she wraps it and gives it to Tyler?

The other day when it came to the office we took it out of the box, took all the small ties off so that on Christmas Day Tyler will be able to open the box and begin playing with it without waiting for Mom and Dad to take it out of the box since everything is tied to the boxes with numerous plastic ties.

With as much fun that his mother is having with this toy, I am sure Tyler will have just as much fun with it. It talks, told her that the stapler was a extreemly heavy load, but dumped it anyway.

Saturday Shopping at Nashville, Indiana

I went on this shopping trip (55 total on the bus)...There were 5 of us ladies who go to Curves who went.
I didn't figure I would spend a bunch of money (Not like one lady I know).

On the way over, there were lots of games, and things to entertain us. Gaye did a wonderful job planning the whole trip. Each seat had a goodie bag

I had Jody take my photo, I hope hers turned out better then mine.
I am not a good person to photograph. (So you can see how dorky I looked for the day).

I did take some photos in the store. I didn't even look to see what the price tag was, but it was pretty. (all of Bud's eagles Or I should say all but, very, very few of them are packed away.) So we surely didn't need another one.

Here are the three ladies I spent my day with.
Doris, Karen and Jody.
We had a wonderful dinner at the "Holy Cow" and a great time together.

No- Jody didn't loose it, but she did have a talk with this fellow toward the end of our day.

I WANT IT TO STAY JUST LIKE THIS.

For the first time in a number of months, my arms are not asleep.

And I do NOT have an unwanted head ache. I just want it to stay like this.....hee,hee.

I phoned my local chiropractor and ask him what I could do to keep it just like this. Since it was the first time in a very long time that I did not hurt like the dickens.

HIS ANSWER, "Quit your job, take your million dollars and let me drive you to Florida and lounge on the beach" YA right,

1st- I don't have a million dollars. If I did I would have quit this job a long time ago.

2nd- I think I could drive myself--or my son-in-law and daughter - or husband would drive me where ever if I had that Million and none of us would have to work.

I'm almost afraid to move this morning for fear that it will go back to making my arms sleep and give me that nagging old head ache again.

I was told that as long as I sat at a desk and looked down as much as I do I will probably have to battle trying to keep it away.
SO especially today I want to be very careful not to twist or turn incorrectly to jeopardise my feeling good. Stretching my neck muscles to the right and not sitting too long at a time before moving away from the computer and stretching.

IS IT RETIREMENT TIME ALREADY? OR DO I SIMPLY NEED ANOTHER VACATION?
I know it is almost the 10th of the month and I have all these bills to pay and accounts to reconcile.

So, I will simply tell my back/neck to stay put don't give me anymore fits. I love being able to feel both arms again.

Panic Attack

Panic mode set in on Saturday morning.

We had been out to DQ for breakfast....yes, they have great biscuits and gravy. From there he took me back to where my car was parked since I had gone to Bloomington after him in the truck.

I got into my car with my grocery list and off to Walmart I go. As I got out of the car and started to clip my keys onto my purse handle like normal. I stopped dead in my tracks. Opened the car door again and searched.

There were to supposed to be 4 sets of keys on that key ring, and there were only two. Where were the other two sets? The truck keys and my office keys were missing.
WHERE OH WHERE WERE THEY?

Since he was still at the place he dropped me off at I ask him to go back to where I was parked and see if they were on the ground. He said calm down, it will all work out......I know my blood pressure was way up. I was in a huge panic mode.

Now if it had only been the truck keys it wouldn't have been so bad but I was missing my work keys.....

I did not want to go into the office and tell my boss that I had lost this whole set of keys.

Bud declared they were not at the place where my car was parked. And I remember reaching for them to open the side door of the truck when we left the DQ. So where oh where were they. I climbed back into the car and went toward the DQ ---retracing my steps. I even went inside and ask if someone had found a couple sets of keys. As I had two sets missing.

As I was leaving the DQ empty handed my phone rang and Bud wanted to know if there was a reward for some missing keys. He had looked at the wrong spot when he looked for them. (NOW this guy had just dropped me off to pick up my car less then 15 minutes before and he forgot where I had parked)? Yes, he had found them....Thank You Dear Jesus. Now calm my heart down and help me settle down.

So back to Walmart I go to do my grocery shopping. Only I added a couple more of these key chains to the list. They now all have their own clip on key chain holder and are clipped to the handle of my purse. I don't care what people think, I do not want to loose any of these keys again.

This will allow me to remove only the set that I need at the time I need them. And it also reminds me that I need to go get a set made of the house keys here and hide them in the furnace room or in my portion of the storeage in the laundry room.
You have to have keys to get into the building and into the apartment. I could always sit outside and wait for someone to come home to let me into the building.
Since there is a $25.00 fee if they have to come let us in if we lock ourselves out of the building.

Late night/home alone.

Friday night after work, I headed to Bloomington to spend a couple of hours with my daughter and son-in-law before needing to be at the airport to pick up my husband.
I had a wonderful couple of hours with them, and a great piece of pizza.
Bud's plane was to come in at 10:50 p.m. so around 10:15 I headed to the airport.
When I got there, I went in to use the rest room, and noticed.....The flight from Atlanta was late...it said arrival at 11:52 DELAYED.

So I went back to the truck, dug the blanket out of the back area. And Settled down to wait. I had some plastic canvas to work on, so since I was sitting under the street light I was able to do so and not have the truck light on.

So, I sent him a text message. "Straight out main door on left in two hour space".
I knew he would know what I meant.

Almost midnight....and I see a plane coming in for a landing.
I dug my camera out and snapped this photo..
The plane lights are the one on the left that looks like two eyes and a nose.

The next one, OH- NO -- It looked like it was headed my direction and the way it was coming down, I whispered....But I didn't sit here so you guys could take me out.
It was coming straight down at me............And I knew they had to descend into the wind and the truck was shaking already, as it was very, very windy.

This one was snapped just before it turned to go down the run way. WHEEEE...I'm glad they turned.

Shortly after this plane landed another one came in.

I sat and waited..(YES, I stayed in the truck.) after all I had text him where I was and it was getting COLD out there.
He send me a reply "K" so I knew he had gotten my text.

When he came out the door and almost to the truck I got out and opened the back to put his bags in.
As he got in the truck this is what he said.

"I get off the plane, and other passengers are getting hugs and kisses from people who were meeting them....I looked around....but nobody was there to meet me.....
I Simply got a text message telling me where to go."

Yep, you got it, I'm tierd, I've been waiting a while, So I simply stayed in the truck. Later I told him he was lucky that I was there. A friend of mine who went to Canada to see her grandaughter had to wait 2 hours for her son to get off work, because her husband was too busy in the field to take time to come get her. So I told him at least I was there waiting for him.

We got home shortly after 1 A.M on Saturday morning.
Man I don't function well on those late nights.

Saturday then, he took a load of people to Champaign to a game. So I was left on my own. When I took the garbage out this is what I saw.

Just my car, the rest of the people in my building were all gone.
So I spent some time totally alone.......
With nobody else home I was able to do all our laundry, clean the place up a bit and sit and do a bit of quilting on my upcoming grandchild's quilt.

Today he is on his way to Akron, Ohio and will be back tomorrow afternoon.
So I believe I will go and watch a movie.
Haven't seen "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" for while.
A nice peaceful afternoon ALONE!.......

Hope everybody else is having a great week end too.
HAPPY SUNDAY AFTERNOON TO ALL OF YOU!
