WHAT is God trying to tell me?

This week, I have had to think....What is God trying to tell me?

The ants on my desk, or crawling up the walls.

The deer running in front of the office---being chased by a dog in the middle of the day. OH, YES and in the middle of the CITY.

More of that slushy icy white stuff today. Giving all of us the blaaas.

Work..... like I have never seen it before in the almost 30 years of service here...(There simply is NONE). Mandatory days off for the guys who are hourly.

Being TOTALLY BORED sitting here all day with not much on our desks to do.

So what is God trying to tell me?

The ants, not as many as there were (They (the boss) promised they would spray) but still those ants that come creeping across my papers, My thumb must seem like a # 10 shoe to them. They are so tiny. Yes, I know they are God's creatures too. But this week I have seen enough of them and dealt with so many of them, I end up heading straight for the shower when I get home, just to get that creepy, crawly feeling gone from my skin.

Especially since I answered the phone the other day and as I was talking to the customer I all but freaked out....He was on my hand crawling toward my face. He must have been on the phone receiver when I picked it up.

Then you go to the bathroom..... and call me paranoid, But YOU MUST LIFT THE TOILET SEAT BEFORE SITTING, just to make sure there are none there before you sit down.

I find them crawling up the wall in the bathroom and also right behind my desk. I have to wonder---are they climbing the ladder of success? Just where do they think they are going?

Today being Friday I always have more to do since it is Payroll day and have the time cards to post after I get done.

Sitting here around noon, All of a sudden I squealed...."There go two deer right past my window" In our Yard heading South, and close behind them there is a dog chasing them.

We are almost in the middle of the City here and yet we have deer running around us.

We laughed. One of the fellows wives had just been in to pick up his check. She was still parked out front and on the phone. They headed straight at her car. Then turned and went around the tavern next door into the woods. Had they been two minutes earlier would they have ran over Debbie? I opened the door and she opened her car door and declared." Did you see that? Awesome"

One customer today on the phone declared that I have been at that job for over 100 years. Some days it sure feels that way.

Seems like everything around me is running away from something. The ants trying to get away from my thumb. The deer from the dog...(Oh, yes, someone on facebook said they were running away from the ants)....

Is God telling me to be like the ants consistent, keeping looking up and being determined to survive? Or is he telling me I need to run in a different direction and trust him as I am doing so?

Tonight while sitting here, Paco is running around on the floor , he is checking everything out. Even climbed up into the bookcase. What is he looking for?

Is God trying to tell us that we too should trust him, he will care for us just like he does the ants, deer and even the birds like ours. Paco is totally dependant on us to feed him and care for him, he trusts us to satisfy his every need, Just like we should trust God to take care of us.

If we do our part, all things will work out.

I loved this post Verna! And I've been meaning to thank you for your sweet comment on my blog the other day!

I don't know what it is with ants lately either....my husband said he found them inside his truck the other morning! That is crazy about the deer too. You are so right though, we should completely depend on God to take care of us, just like our animals depend on us. Why do we worry so much? That was just such a great analogy!

Great post Verna, I think it is God's way of warning us that the end is near and soon we will all be experiencing our eternal life in heaven! At least I hope so espcially on days like you had! In the meantime, just know he is in charge and have a great ant free weekend.
