Why did we want to relocate?
In the local trailer park where we have had our home parked for the past 14 months we were parked on the corner. The street behind the trailer was only a stones throw away.
Oh yes, they began throwing stones at the trailers parked along that street. Pour little 80+ year old lady two doors down wasn't getting much sleep at all. 2:30-4:30 a.m. the kids were prowling the neighborhood.
The straw that broke the camel's back was the 2:30 rock that hit us and I thought it was a bomb. And I sleep in the opposite end of the trailer.
Then they would stop at the corner and rave their motors. And their stereos are way, WAY to LOUD!!
Plus they would go down Tiffany Terrace at 50-70 miles an hour and speed limit is 15.
Thus we started to investigate things more. We found that the place we originally wanted to be last May had openings again. They have 5 year round spots up front with water and sewer hook ups.
So we unskirted it and started preparing for the relocation.
So here we are, just a couple more jacks to put up, and unhook the power and we are ready to go.
Since our truck doesn't have the towing package on it yet, we hired the service manager from Four Winds to take us to our new location. Here we are waiting for him to arrive, and Bud acted as tho he was going to pull it himself. My caption for this photo is "Can he pull it?"
Hey, this even looks like our truck, (But it is not), Starting off leaving our home spot of 14 months. This is the first time in those months that the slides have been put in also.
I had parked at Jessica's next door. He went down and around the circle.
We proceeded north on Greenswitch, but Justin and Bud turned off at Illiniwick road and went over to the highway to go north. I went straight north thru the country.
I was sitting at the picnic table waiting for them when they arrived.
He came up and around the bend and stopped to survey where we were going.
Pulled down toward the road and came back to see in person. We thought she would want us as far to the left as possible, but after he had backed up into the spot, she decided that we needed to move to the right about 18-20 inches so that the slide outs would be on the gravel also, so she would not have any problem mowing.
She even went and got us the concrete blocks to put under our jacks.
Here we are all set up. We do have to remove the ties there in front, our steps will not sit up to the door with the wood there. She had told us that would not be a problem. She also showed us where we could set our shed that is being picked up today and delivered by Svendsens towing.
Parking in front right next to the garbage dumpster.
This is the view out our patio door. So peaceful and quiet, except for the crickets, and cicadas that are still around there. The air is cooler so unless my allergies really flare up, we shall be able to leave the a/c off a bit more.
The shed has been delivered, so I am anxious to see how it looks now with it there, plus I am sure we will have to open it and rearrange everything that was in it.
So now we are just south of Weldon Springs State Park, but our mailing address will be a P.O.Box in Clinton, Illinois. It will mean that I have 30 minutes to work instead of 15 and I have to drive 22 miles one way. But that too shall pass. I can do it for a number of months. After all in years past I have driven 40+ miles one way to work.
