Bud's Christmas Surprise

Saturday when we stopped at the post office, Bud came out with a long box.....the girls at the post office said it was a long nut cracker.  By the time he reached the car he thought he knew what it was.  We still have to glue the one piece together so it doesn't come apart, and put a piece of rebar into the ground to make it sturdy.  But he has always wanted one of these flags, So Mrs. Claus bought him one for Christmas.

I will not show my gift.... I told him not to buy me anything else, since we are spending over $600 for new boobs and I spent a bundle getting my ring (past, present, future) fixed since I lost the present out of the present.. earlier this year.  And since it was my gift from Bud a number of years ago, I really wanted to get it fixed.

You can do it Grandma, I'll help you.

Christmas Day at the Brockman residence.   I was playing with Kenley in her toy room and she was scooting thru her tent and tunnel and we were playing peek a boo.   We were having a great time. When she wanted Grandma to go thru the tube with a teddy......Now grandma isn't as limber  and small like Kenley is.... yet, she kept saying...."Come on Grandma- You can do it, I'll help you"

Just to prove a point this Grandma did go thru the tunnel for her.   Only once tho.... and in the back ground I could hear grandpa say,  "Yes, 911  we got a person stuck in a tunnel."... Yes right, I made it all the way thru. :)
But it made me use upper torso muscles pulling myself thru.  But Grandma, teddy and cell phone made it thru without incident.

Another snowy day in the country.

We here in central Illinois have really lucked out thus far this year and have not had any snow.  Normally in December we have some snow, but this year, thus far......NONE.....So as far as I am concerned it can hold of till sometime in January before we get any amount of snow.

Have you ever wondered?

Have you ever wondered why the birds will congregate on the power lines like this.
In my younger years I used to think they must be having a conference or having church.
Hundreds and hundreds of them all in one area filling the power lines.

New Chef in Town.

There is a new chef in town.  Kenley wearing her apron I mad for her, playing with the food and grocery cart that she got for her birthday. At one time when I came around the corner she had the donuts in a frying pan and was making fried donuts with daddy.  So cute!
