I CAN SAY NO

WOW! I am so Proud and pleased with myself.... I actually told someone NO today.

It seems like people think I can be wonder women when it comes to fixing things.
Well, Today I had to say NO I DON'T WANT TO TRY IT.

The lady I finished the table cloth for called and wanted to know if I could mend some doilies that her mother had made (Over 60 years ago).
After all the problems I had with the table cloth and how stressed I was when I did this:

Stressed to no end. And to try and fix something that is that old and mend it right in the middle of it, well I think her best bet would be to just take a needle and thread and stitch up any hole in her doilies.

SO, YES, I HAVE LEARNED TO SAY NO.

Normally there isn't a whole lot that I won't tackle, but I have fixed a Afghan,
and it is terribly hard to fix something that is that old. Plus trying to figure out what the stitch is. Then on doilies they are usually round and every round is a totally different stitch. SO YES, I AM PLEASED WITH MYSELF. I ACTUALLY SAID "NO".

Good for you. It is hard to say NO isn't it? I have to learn to say NO more often.

My blue and white quilt needs a mend. I found a small rip in the middle of one of the squares. It may have been from kitty's nails. Will you fix that for me? (or will you be telling me to fix it myself)

Sherri, yes, it is extreemly difficult for me to say No.

Kim, have I ever said No to you on mending? Let me see, I think I have a stack over here on the table that I justs worked on last week. Of course, I'll fix your quilt. Perhaps, I can mend it next Friday after your doctor's appointment. Or will I be on such a high from seeing my grandchild that I just simply can't get off Cloud Nine to fix it? :)

I was just testing you to see if you were getting better at saying no ;o) I know you would never tell me no regarding some mending. If we get to it next Friday, great! If not, it will survive longer.

Hi Verna!

Nice to meet you and thanks for commenting on my blog today! Good for you with the photo scanning. I love the online books and once you have the photos scanned, they can be shared with everyone! I use Creative Memories "Memory Manager" for scanning and organizing. I save them up to Picasa right now...but soon I will outgrow the "free storage!" Blessings to you...keep saying "no" so you can say "yes" to the best!
