Storms and Rain.

A week ago today someone told me to grab my camera and come see.
These are some of the photos I took from the back dock.

Later in the evening we learned that this storm did lots of damage in Sullivan, Illinois.
I sure thought these were mean looking clouds when I saw them.

Rain, rain, rain....off and on all last week we were getting lots of it.
Look before you sit....especially if it has been raining...

Lots and lots of flashing lights.

Last night a bit before midnight, I was awaken by sirens.............Oh, man....here is a firetruck rounding the corner down into our court.....Wait....those flashing lights are stopping just past our trailer.........
No, ..... no.....here is truck # 2, and truck # 3....... all rushing to the corner trailer..... wait those people have a newborn, just came home recently......

Then comes the fire chief.......... and Truck # 4 and truck # 5...... and truck # 6
Five and six were released almost right away, but # 4 was parked in the entry way into our court.

Then we see Melinda........ ( the community busy body?) She stated that the lady next door to her woke up smelling smoke.......Grabbed the baby and went outside......Screaming for Melinda to call 911 and take the baby...... then got the other two children out of the front bedroom.
Every body got out of the trailer safely before the firemen arrived.

She stated they smelled gas, and the kitchen stove was on fire....
The firemen even got their chain saw out......

The ambulance didn't even come into the court..... They came in on foot from the front street between the trailers.....

We know they got out safely, but Hope and pray they are all okay. After all, the baby is very, very young.

This guy was sitting right outside my bedroom window in the entrance to the court.
And this is what it looked like from our patio door.
One thing for sure, They did respond, and they stayed until everything was safe.
Thank you DFD for arriving so swiftly.
This morning, I noticed two more men came back and checked things out.
The fire investigator arrived there at the time the firefighters were still there in the middle of the night.
My thoughts and prayers are with this family today.

Thank you Lord!

Thank you Lord, for helping me wade thru my day. And for my blogger friends who said extra prayers for me today.

Julie made it to Walmart and back and got the Salesman's computer set up. Then he had problems printing. Sometimes I wonder if the guys should have computers on their desks.

At lunch time I took the overnight letter to the post office and mailed it along with another letter and purchased 900 forever stamps.

Then I ventured down to Dollar General in hopes of buying toilet paper and paper towels for the office. They only had two packages of toilet paper and one of paper towels of the kind that I wanted. So, I kept money out and bought more when I stopped at Cub Foods this evening to get coffee for us here at home.

Also purchased one of those baked chickens, yum, yum....No cooking for me tonight.

Mr. C had been in Normal all day working on the front of our daughter's house.
I wonder what he got the most paint on him or the house? Oh, I'm sure it was the house, but he did have a bunch on him too.

So, yes, Lord...Thank you for helping me get thru this day. Not only a busy one, but what we at the office call hump day.

Now tomorrow will be different.... I will be doing payroll a day early and adjusting every body's time cards accordingly next week to reflect what they actually work tomorrow. (Bob and Sherri are both going to be going to St. Louis moving personal belongs of Ron and Donna into the apartment down there on Friday).
Ron is hoping to get on the lung transplant list and get a lung soon.
Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family as this is a very serious time for them. If he doesn't get a transplant ----- Well---he won't see many more weeks--days here on this earth if he doesn't.

The prayer chain also informed us that there was another member dear to our church family that has entered into the kingdom of God.... That makes 3 in the past week.
The 2nd lady--was suffering from cancer very badly. I know her daughter in law and daughter. She was a sweet lady (prayer warrior). She will be missed.
The man who has been in the hospital since the first of the month had heart problems. I did not know him as well, but know he too will be missed!

Thank you Lord for being with us today. Watch over us as we rest this evening and help us be a good witness for you.

Lord help me thru this day.

Today my prayer is :

Lord, help me thru this day. And if you ever take my hearing away from me please make me smart enough to carry my computer or paper with me to type or write things out for people.

If thus far this morning is any indication of what my day is going to be like, I hope God will give me the strength to get all the way to 4:30 p.m.
And it is only 9:30 a.m. at the moment.

1.)The man who came in does not realize how loud he spoke. The others in the office thought I was having a screaming match with him. Poor Mark---Who I had to get since he is getting a new unit---- had to write things out for him to read because Mark couldn't get him to understand him. His A/C will be installed today so they have cooling. He didn't tell us yesterday that what we did day before didn't last and he had no cooling at all now.

2.) A computer problem with one of our computers.....Must get things done NOW so that Salesmen can function. (How about the work or our desks?) Guess it is all put on hold till their problem is solved.

3.) The heat outside is making peoples tempers about as high as the outside temperatures..... And the phones are going crazy. Help me be calm with these people and understanding.
(Sometimes, this is very hard to do. Customers do not realize they are not the only people we do work for. All they know is they are HOT and they want service RIGHT NOW).

4.) Can I retire NOW?

Smiling..........
LORD HELP ME THRU THIS DAY!!!!

It's only flat on ONE SIDE--- New steps

Oh wait, it's only flat on the bottom side.
This is what we came home to on Monday afternoon after spending the week end in Missouri with friends.
I walked around the car and this is what I saw on the back tire:

Oh, I hope it was only a shell he left behind, because Bud aired up that tire then took the car over to see if there was a nail.
Only to find out that I needed two new tires on the front. (Which we have ordered. They put a loaner tire on for me until the new ones come in.)
That afternoon we went out to Menards and purchased the materials to build steps for the patio door. (Bud doesn't like the trailer steps so we built wooden ones)

He was happy with himself for being able to do this ourselves.

Now we don't have to worry when we have people over......If someone is in the bathroom we can still get outside and not have to wait.
The bath is between the bedroom and kitchen area and the back door is off the bedroom.
So I am glad to have two doors available to enter or exit the premises.
