Who is watching your moves?

Just before Christmas our neighbor stopped at her mother's house just inside the trailer park entrance to help her carry her Christmas Tree into the house. She left her car door open and was only inside a minute. But, when she got back to the car her purse was missing.
She canceled her credit cards and they begin to canvas the area.
They found her purse inside one of the evergreen trees at the entrance to the park.
Along with two lawn chairs, a blanket and a machete.

The tree looked a little worse then this one does with the branches down almost to the ground.

Actually I think the branches were touching the ground.
Now this tree they found her purse in looks like this. I am so glad that they chopped the bottom of this tree off. Every time I came home I had to think.... is he/she sitting in that tree now watching me?
I guess we really never know who is watching our moves, and where they are hiding to observe our actions. But to me them sitting in this tree was creepy. Were they just kids or were they some homeless person or one of the people from the group home across the street?
I know there are a lot of sick people out there in this world, but guess I never gave it a thought that they might sit in a tree watching our moves.

That is so scary, Verna! Yes, you can never be too careful. I never leave my car unlocked or my purse in it after getting mugged at the grocery store. I won't even leave my purse in the car inside my garage. I cringe when I see ladies leaving their purses in their buggy and walking away at the store. It only takes literally one second for something horrible to happen :(

Okay I think I got it. Someone took her purse up into a tree where they had some lawn chairs....still weird.

Kim, you are too funny but this situation is not funny! There are many weirdos our there and we have to be careful and on alert. Hope that the person who did this is long gone from your area.

Clarification Since I utterly confused my daughter.

When they found her purse it was in this big tree and there appeared that someone was either living or sitting in this tree time and time again. There were two lawn chairs, plus a blanket to stay warm in this cold weather. But, my question why the machete? Were they using it for protection or for future confirtations if they wanted to steel from someone?
