South Dakota 2013

At the end of June I went for a two mile walk. Did it in 40 minutes, came back did stretches. Walked into the bedroom and picked something up off the floor and wham. There went my hip. Horrific pain retched thru my lower back. Every step I took felt like a knife being twisted down there.

The local chiropractor just wasn't cutting it. So as much fun (not) the small town is where I knew I would get relief, I made plans to go to South Dakota on my own. I knew I would rest and sleep a lot more if I went alone.

Therefore, I skipped the fireworks here at the campground, which I knew would be fantastic, and left on Saturday the sixth of July. Drove to Austin, Minnesota and stopped at the Days Inn. Then went on in on Sunday morning.

Stopped in Sioux Falls and wanted to go to the mall or the butterfly house, but made the error in stopping at Burger King for lunch. Sitting there My back hurt so badly, that I vetoed doing anything fun that day.

Fun things were vetoed the next few days for me too! I spent three days here:

Yep, I had the same position for three days. Flat on my back stretched out on this bed in this small room. Sometimes with a rice heat pack on my lower back. I had to visit a different room to use a microwave. Would go downstairs for my meals at The Brick Oven.

By late Wednesday evening I needed to get out of town and away a bit. So I drove out to the lake and stopped at their local cemetery and visited Evelyn's grave. She was Dr. Charles mother, and in years past was always so kind to me when I was out there.

Dr. Doug didn't want me doing a lot of walking this time when I was there. BORING!!!!

Needless to say I slept and read a lot.
Thursday----I am beginning to feel more human again. The pain has gone, and I wanted to go see the Butterflys again.

So I programed the gps and went to Sioux Falls to the Butterfly house.
Pictures on upcoming post.

Friday morning I started home after my treatment. Went home the south route thru Missouri, arriving home Saturday p.m.
I am still not 100% but am feeling a lot better!

Thanks Dr. Doug!
