These photos actually should go at the bottom of this post, but this blog entry has a mind of it's own tonight. OH, WELL.
There has been so many ill people around us daily. Seems like everybody we know is either sick or has been sick recently.
People say they would like a day in bed just to rest.... YAAA RIGHT...Not all it is cracked up to be.
Last Tuesday March 2, 2010) A.M. off to work like normal ...well not exactly normal..... I had a monster
HUGE---HUGH head ache. One that I felt like the top of my head was going to fall off at any moment. Making me sick to my stomach also.
In all the 30 years of employment, I rarely if ever go home sick. Normally the only thing that normally makes me stay home or go home is if the bathroom calls my name way too many times in a day.
The phone rang and the man wanted a filter, I could not concentrate on even answering his questions and finding out what kind of filter he really needed. That is when I decided that I would go across the street to the chiropractor, then I would go home.
I arrived at home before 10 a.m. and crawled into bed... Got up long enough to eat a bowl of cream of broccoli soup from Panera Bread (Which I requested my Bud go get for me for lunch), then slept until 3:30 p.m.
I stayed up till 9:30 then went back to bed and slept all night....
So, staying in bed is not all that it is cracked up to be.
The next day I went back to work, and did what I could, but Well, I sure didn't push myself and overwork. (OOPS don't tell my boss that).:)
IS THIS GOING TO BE A TREND FOR MY NEXT TUESDAY TOO?
I most certainly hope not.
This past Tuesday - March 9, 2010, I am in the midst doing checks for the 10th payment when my phone rings and Bud says, "Do me a favor. Run down to Mom's and see what is up. " Jerry (Grandpa had called him and wanted to talk. Bud told him well, we can talk I'm on the road but that's okay...... "NO, When can we talk here?" Did not tell him what was going on.
The minute I heard this I knew it had something to do with Bud's mother, 10 days before they had let her go home from the nursing home, much to the displeasure of some of us. We knew it wouldn't last long. When she gets home she really doesn't follow instructions. Not enough therapy and does not take her meds or eat as she should.
When I walked in and saw her sitting on the chair... Confused about life in general, and Jerry sitting on his chair, him telling me "She's lost it, shes nuts. She had me up all night the past two nights. After seeing the situation I knew something had to be done.
My assessment just confirmed itself when she wanted to go to the bathroom. Shuffled to the bathroom and helped her there. Came back to the chair and she decides to sit----BEFORE she was in front of the chair to sit back.
SO, SHE ALL BUT WENT DOWN FOR ME.... Grabbing her so that she didn't fall---- OF COURSE I COULD FEEL MY UPPER BACK GIVE....MAN this is not good...Why oh why did they think she could come home and take care of herself? And he definitely cannot take care of her.
She informed me she just simply didn't feel like taking her meds that morning. I Shook my head and called my husband relaying to him that we probably needed to get her back into the nursing home or into the hospital for evaluation. He made a couple phone calls to his sisters.
One was coming over (The other so far away she doesn't have to deal with it).
I called 911 told them it was not an emergency but I needed a transport to the hospital. She was partially confused.
At ER, her youngest daughter and I went, we told grandpa he would need to stay home, we would keep him informed. The last time he went when she went for xrays. He had a seizure in the ER and landed up in ICU for the night.
The ER doctor was a bit nasty with me, but soon found out that he could not push me around, that I needed their help, and they were either going to keep her in the hospital or put her back in the nursing home.
By the end of the day, they had transported her back to the nursing home. The same bed that she had just left 10 days ago. I had to go get her meds and her clothes for her. She was not happy about going back, but knowing she is not eating, taking her meds properly and that none of us can physically care for her, this needed to be done.
The only thing the ER could find was that her oxygen level was at 88 - then down to 86 and it is to be over 100.... This alone can make her loopy.
I Looked at my sister-in-law...and said, "You know every time she has a set back she looses ground. They gave her that medicine a couple of years ago that is doing this to her, and if you ever think about taking her home again, I WILL KICK YOU IN THE ROMP."
Her mother had begged to go home, yet in 10 days she is back just as bad as she was.
The only good thing about her being at home was that Kim and Clay were able to bring Kenley down on Saturday and see them at the house. Kim really didn't want to take Kenley into the nursing home to see her great grandmother. And we were able to get some photos.
(SEE THE ABOVE PHOTOS).

If she ever gets to where she can we are allowed to take her out to eat if she feels up to it. Therefore, we can take her to DQ or anywhere and family can meet her there to visit too.
SO NOW MY QUESTION IS:
Will next Tuesday March the 16th be as bad as the last two?
I HOPE NOT!
