Day One- Saturday-April 10,2010

Saturday Morning.....the alarm rings at 4 a.m. UP and at them. We must get moving. That was what my husband said. Shower- dress--load the truck and off we go.

When we got to the airport we find that American Air Lines personnel don't start working till 7 a.m. .....haaaa.. I could have slept another hour.

We ate some breakfast and waited. Security is normally a hassle for Bud since he has two artificial hips. Yet this morning we figured it would be worse since he also had portable oxygen to have when he slept.

We were pleasantly surprised that since there was nobody else in the security area that it went very well. He handled his oxygen stuff, and they waned him like normal.

I unloaded the two lap tops that were in my carry on, almost forgot to take my shoes off, (they reminded me) and thru security we went.
After we got thru we were able to sit and relax a bit.

And since we had our lap tops with us. We made use of this time to check our e-mail. And Yes, Kim did a bit of farming on facebook too. :)Smiling.

Our plane from Bloomington to Chicago.

The clouds were simply Lovely....Don't they look like cotton balls?

We had a good flight. In Chicago we had a wheel chair take us from one gate to the other. Had he not used it, I would probably had to pick him up off the floor. Guess, I hadn't realized how bad his breathing is getting till today.

When we left the rent-a-car place she told us how to go to get to the hotel. The GPS was in our big suit case and I really didn't feel like digging for it. We were to make a right, right, then left, but at the left corner --well it was a right only, so we went down to the next corner and turned left onto I35...... It didn't take us long to discover that we should have made a right at that corner then exit numbers were getting bigger not smaller.
But we were not wanting to turn around and go the other way.

This is what we saw in the direction we needed to go. Wall to wall traffic and moving extremely slow.

We stopped and ask for directions. The young man sent us thru a residential neighborhood down to the street we needed to be on. Yet when we got back to the I35 intersection, where our motel was to be. We did not see the Peartree sign. So, he pulled over and stopped and called them. When he got off the phone he said, "OH, NO! I do not like what they are located next to."

FUNNY...... RIGHT NEXT TO THE RED LOBSTER.

And those of you who really know me, KNOW I LOVE LOBSTER...

Last night we ate at Marie Callender's.

Traffic was still backed up a ways. It took this Walmart truck over 5 minutes to move a very short distance.

I could have told you security at the BLOOMINGTON airport isn't bad and there was no need to be there that early but I know that dad is stubborn so guess you got some farm time.
